Building resilience in writing is a great and smart way to stand and stay motivated against setbacks and challenges to your writing growth. There is no doubt about the fact that every aspiring writer has a goal in mind. Just like any other successful writer out there. You want to be published or even want the world to hear about you as a writer. Nursing these ideas in mind are sound, only that sometimes achieving them comes not as easy as planned. But is it impossible to achieve? I believe nothing is impossible to achieve in life. This is because many have become successful despite what appears impossible. Anyone can, and which includes you and me.
As a former teacher, and from experience, I encouraged my students that there is no way things will work perfectly in life as expected. But what is important is to recover from whatever setbacks and use it to become better and move forward. This applies also to a writer, especially if you haven’t find your balance yet. And so it becomes necessary to build resilience as an aspiring writer or author.
Probably, you’re so passionate about reaching your creative potential, and you want to stay determine writing. If you nurse this ambition, then you’re on track and quite ready to fulfilling it. Every writer, be it aspiring or experience work towards growth and success. What’s the purpose of writing if not to succeed?

If you’ve been writing, you know how difficult it can be, and that is the reason for cultivating writing perseverance. When rejections or any disappointment shows up, you don’t lose your writing muscles, but strengthens it and recover to move ahead.

As you write, you would have discovered that writing isn’t something to joke with. No matter what you write like blog, manuscripts, contents or articles etc. And depending on how passionate and determined you are, there will be a day you will feel like not writing and it can even lead to days of not writing.
It will be more difficult when you face rejections or tough time. Thinking about quitting or entirely given up always come to mind. I know this because it has happened to me.
You may have read severally that you shouldn’t give up, don’t look at this advice as something to dismiss with a wave of hand. Successful and experience writers will always tell you that at a point in their writing career, they thought of given up was a threat to their writing ambition.
I have discovered this truth since I started writing. Think about negative feedbacks or lack of results. So building resilience will help and increase your writing motivation thereby leading to no given up in the pursuit of your creativity. Doing this calls for patience on your part.
Remain Optimistic
You must expect good things all the time, and this is the reason why you should be optimistic. As you wake every day, the mindset to succeed should be uppermost in your mind. Yes, it is not as simple as said, but it requires a positive attitude to continue writing when discouragement and difficulties show up.
Feeling down or tired is part of the writing journey, and having the resilience and determination will help you as long as you maintain an absolute optimism. Maintaining positive outlook helps in overcoming the writing challenges that comes your way. And not only this, you’re walking towards the road leading to your writing success.
Take care of yourself
Your wellbeing is something to be serious about because of the importance it plays in your writing success.
Building resilience is difficult when you aren’t okay with your mental health. Know when to take rest because writers suffer from burnouts and it’s quite discouraging especially when you’re a beginner writer. So don’t joke or play with it. Having good health enables you to write with great strength that will translate into your writing success.
Learn from setbacks
Stumbling blocks and obstacles are part of the writing process. But it prepares you to learn lessons from them. Having resilience comes through lessons learned from unpleasant situations. Let me tell you that the more you learn from what happened to you either positive or negative, it will build you into a better person. Yes, nobody enjoys setbacks of any kind, but as a writer who wants to go far writing: they provides you an opportunity to become better.
Relate with others
Learning to relate with others whether writers or those close to you will help your writing journey. As you may have found out that writing is a lonely business and sometimes it can be frustrating. Take advantage of family members or other writers; talk and tell them how you feel.
Each time I feel alone, I usually reach people close to me, more so my family. I do ask for their feedback about my writing concern. Also, I do contact some writers with similar writing aspirations as mine. And the result is that Always be sure to get feedbacks that is sure to help your writing journey. So take the advantage and relate with others to help your writing growth.
But to get the best out of this experience, look for people who you can trust and relate with them to spark your writing motivation.
Building resilience helps you stay focused and motivated writing to overcome the challenges and setbacks that you face as a writer starting new. Since I started writing, I have come to terms with many discouraging situations capable of weakling my writing muscles. But, I have always find a way to recover and to continue writing.
Never give up as long as you know the purpose which motivates you to write. Be optimistic, look for ways to take care of your mental well-being and relate with others to have a positive writing outcomes.
So, build your writing resilience and stay encouraged as you aspire to make the best of your creative journey. Remember that setbacks gives you the opportunity to learn and help your personal growth writing to become a better writer.
