Simple Habits that Improves your Writing Aspiration: For the Beginner Writer

Do you want to improve on your writing aspiration? Accepting some tested but simple habits will help you reach your writing goals. Are you are beginner or aspiring writer? This is what motivates famous writers invest everything within their power in reaching their success. Every effort you put into your writing growth simply worth the effort. I was once a keeper of bad habits, I’m sure it bites hard.

You see, anything that affect your personal growth isn’t good news. Everyone wants to get better all the time. But you have the responsibility to throw away the dustbin of habits that interfere with your ability to make an impact as a writer

Whether you’re a blogger, fiction writer, screenwriter, nonfiction, it doesn’t matter because having a big smile on your face makes a big difference in your creativity.

How are you going to achieve these important goals?

Have you noticed how successful writers developed habits that opened opportunities leading them to the top of career.  How they invested time and effort into becoming the best they can in their writing. How possible will they achieve these with developing good practices.

What do you know about keeping habit?

Here isn’t another classroom to teach you about habit, Infact, good writers have written a whole book dedicated to this important practice, so, I won’t trouble you here.

But think of this if in your home, and you keep doing things like keeping your room clean everyday; wash your clothes or you always greet people on the way. These are good habits. The small good things you do that brings you compliments are good. So, you also you develop good habit in your writing.

Here are simple habits you need to achieve your writing potential

  • Motivating yourself

Sometimes we do things just because something outside draws us to it. It can be that your motivation to write is make money. But any motivation that comes from within you, will keep you for long time to come. You know your aim is to become a better writer. So, it is important to motivate yourself as a writer.

  • Read. Read and Read

There is no better way to be a good writer than to read. I read somewhere that said, “Reading is beautiful.” Do you agree with this?

No other option to think out that helps you get more ideas than reading. Devote some time out of your busy plan. Read what excites you and at the same time help you achieve your target. If anyone tells you it doesn’t matter, but I tell you, it matters you read. No other way to say it again.

  • Keep an exercise book or jotter

Keep a book close by because an idea can quickly come to mind. If you are writing fiction, that’s one of the good ways to keep writers block at arm’s length. Inspiration is part of the game and it help me in my writing. Try to have writing paper nearby even when you travel. This is a good habit to keep at all times.

  • Developing a flexible Attitude

Having a flexible attitude is evidence of growth and this is a habit you should cultivate as a writer. It shows your readiness and ability to change; to discard what doesn’t work and embrace what works.  It requires cultivation of determination and resilience when your goals aren’t providing you with the desired result. In your writing process, a time will come when you feel like given up like a boxer in the ring.

  • Conquering fear

Fear is a big giant, and of course, there is nobody to be exempted from it. You alone can say what you fear. Perhaps, you fear about failure or rejections. This is normal, but know that you aren’t alone. You can overcome it. In my case, I continue writing and this time of self-publishing, there isn’t much to fear here. Now, it depends on your choice. The most common fear is the one paralyzing your personal growth. In the past, the fear of failure and what people would say held me in bondage for a long time. What do you fear?

Through fear, many have found success by conquering it with courage. The need for building self-improvement is because it will help you pick courage and face your fear with resilience, persistence and keep showing your writing talent.

There are things you do in life without thinking, and such things will be difficult to stop, especially when they involve the bad ones. While the hard habits may not help you become the person you always want to be, instead it will hinder your improvement. And you know everyone out there battles with one or two ugly habits. But it takes willpower and resolve to wade off the challenges and discouragement that affects the good habits

But here, you will learn habits that will give you an edge to better and improve your life that transforms into your success.

  • Never give room to negative thoughts

You shouldn’t find the worst in any situation, even though you are surrounded by negative things. Look at life with optimism as it helps you to become better.  Ensure that you do away with or reduce identifying with things that ignite negative thoughts in you.

  • Cultivate determination and resilience

Determination is part of what makes success possible. Imagine when setbacks and obstacles strike; you keep on moving forward, doing what seems impossible to achieve your goals. A determined attitude is a good habit to cultivate for improvement in your writing and resilience will help feel better quickly and continue writing if you’re are feeling down discouraged.

  • Accept your journey is different from others

Your journey can’t be compared with another writer. This is because you have what leads you to write. This is the reason you should define how to reach your journey. Remember that you are special and have what motivates you. Life is unpredictable, and no matter what you think others have achieved.  Be yourself and follow your writing goals.

  • Reward yourself for a small achievement

Rewarding yourself is a good habit to accept in your writing. Be happy with the small efforts you put daily. Writing can be challenging and you deserve every energy you commit.  Others may call it nothing, but to you, that’s something to make you happy.  It leaves you with the confidence to do more. So, reward yourself even with the smallest achievement as long as it agrees with your desires and values.

  • Do what matters to you

Anything that matters to you will improve your writing. Expect that the road will not be smooth all the time. Everyone has what fuels their energy to become successful in life. It is your responsibility to decide where you want to go. So, I write because I find joy in it and I want to impact others with my writing. Know the reason why you write, and write what matters!

  • Practice and set small goals

Achieving success in anything needs practice, with my experience in writing; the more you write, and the better you come. When starting, it doesn’t matter how many words you write in a day. The main thing is to type on your computer or write inside an exercise book. Setting small goals that you can finish will help you and it is a good writing habit to hold on.

Remember, edit whatever you write and be bold to make changes where necessary. I write when the urge comes and later, I re-write the entire work but still retain my message.

Some writers said writing is easy, but I agree with many experience writers how said that writing isn’t the best exercise. It’s challenging especially when starting new. A lot of efforts goes into it and cultivating the best habits will help you improve your writing. If you must keep on writing, then you need to build the resilience and the determination to keep you on track when discouraging situations calls or when your hand become weak to write.

These habits will help you stay motivated, and if you want your voice to be heard, then think about the habits that will help you realize your dream of writing.
